Ingredients
- 4–5 large aloe vera leaves
- 750 ml water
- 200 ml coconut oil (or olive oil)
- 2 tbsp castor oil (optional)
- 1 vitamin E capsule (optional)
Method
- Wash the aloe leaves well.
- Cut away the edges and slice open.
- Scoop out the gel and cut into cubes.
- Put aloe cubes + 750 ml water in a pot.
- Simmer on low heat 10–15 minutes.
- Let cool slightly.
- Strain through a fine sieve or cloth.
- Mix the aloe liquid with 200 ml coconut oil.
- Add castor oil + vitamin E if using.
- Pour into a clean bottle.
How to use
- Massage into scalp for 5 minutes.
- Apply through hair lengths.
- Leave 30–60 minutes (or overnight).
- Wash with shampoo.
Storage
- In the fridge: up to 1 week
- If mostly oil and well strained: 2–3 weeks
