Oregano Tea (1 cup)
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano (or 1 tablespoon fresh oregano leaves)
- 250 ml hot water
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
- 1–2 slices lemon (optional)
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil.
- Put oregano in a cup or teapot.
- Pour hot water over it.
- Cover and let steep for 5–8 minutes.
- Strain.
- Add honey and lemon if you like.
How people usually drink it
- For coughs or sore throat: warm, 1–2 cups a day.
- After meals: plain or with lemon.
Taste tip: oregano tea is earthy and strong—honey softens it nicely.
A quick note: oregano is tasty and traditional as a tea, but the health claims in the poster (blood pressure, sleep, etc.) aren’t guaranteed for everyone. If you take medicines or are pregnant, check with a clinician before using a lot of oregano tea.
