Oregano Tea (1 cup)

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano (or 1 tablespoon fresh oregano leaves)
  • 250 ml hot water
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
  • 1–2 slices lemon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil.
  2. Put oregano in a cup or teapot.
  3. Pour hot water over it.
  4. Cover and let steep for 5–8 minutes.
  5. Strain.
  6. Add honey and lemon if you like.

How people usually drink it

  • For coughs or sore throat: warm, 1–2 cups a day.
  • After meals: plain or with lemon.

Taste tip: oregano tea is earthy and strong—honey softens it nicely.

A quick note: oregano is tasty and traditional as a tea, but the health claims in the poster (blood pressure, sleep, etc.) aren’t guaranteed for everyone. If you take medicines or are pregnant, check with a clinician before using a lot of oregano tea.
