Baking Soda on the Face: Benefits, Risks, and How to Use It Safely

Baking soda is not proven to remove wrinkles or dark circles, and it can irritate or dry the skin if used too often. A gentler homemade mask is safer.

Simple Face Mask

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt or honey
  • A few drops of water

How to Use

  1. Mix into a smooth paste.
  2. Apply lightly to the face, avoiding the eyes.
  3. Leave for 1–2 minutes only.
  4. Rinse with lukewarm water.
  5. Apply moisturizer afterward.

Important

  • Use only 1 time per week.
  • Stop if burning or redness occurs.
  • Do not use directly under the eyes.
  • Daily sunscreen helps dark spots more than baking soda.
