DIY Overnight Rice Gel for Glowing Skin

This homemade rice gel is inspired by traditional beauty remedies that use rice water for brighter, softer-looking skin. The image also appears to include cloves and aspirin tablets. While rice and cloves are common in DIY skincare, aspirin can irritate sensitive skin, so use caution and always patch-test first.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 5–6 cloves
  • 2 aspirin tablets (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel
  • 1 teaspoon glycerin or vitamin E oil

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Rice

Wash the rice thoroughly and place it in a pot with water and cloves. Simmer on low heat until the rice becomes very soft and slightly sticky.

Step 2: Blend the Mixture

Allow the rice mixture to cool slightly. Remove the cloves if desired, then blend into a smooth paste or gel-like consistency.

Step 3: Add the Extras

Crush the aspirin tablets into a fine powder and mix them into the rice gel. Add aloe vera gel and glycerin or vitamin E oil. Stir until smooth.

How to Use

  1. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser.
  2. Apply a thin layer of the gel before bedtime.
  3. Leave overnight.
  4. Rinse with lukewarm water in the morning.

Use 2–3 times per week.

Benefits of the Ingredients

Rice

Rice water and rice paste are rich in amino acids and antioxidants that may help skin appear smoother and brighter.

Cloves

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera helps soothe and hydrate the skin.

Glycerin

Glycerin locks in moisture and gives the skin a soft glow.

Important Safety Notes

  • Do a patch test on your wrist before using on your face.
  • Avoid aspirin if you have sensitive skin, aspirin allergy, rosacea, or very dry skin.
  • Do not apply on broken or irritated skin.
  • Store the gel in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Extra Tips for Naturally Glowing Skin

  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Sleep at least 7–8 hours.
