Green Papaya Stir-Fry

Ingredients

  • 1 medium green papaya, peeled and grated
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 green chili (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh coriander for garnish
  • Juice of ½ lemon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the papaya
    Peel the green papaya, remove seeds, and grate or cut into thin strips. Rinse well.
  2. Cook aromatics
    Heat oil in a pan. Add onion and garlic, sauté until golden.
  3. Add spices
    Stir in turmeric, pepper, salt, tomato, and chili. Cook for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Add papaya
    Add grated green papaya and stir well. Cover and cook for 10–12 minutes until tender but slightly crisp.
  5. Finish
    Add lemon juice and garnish with fresh coriander.

Serve

Enjoy hot with rice, bread, or as a healthy side dish. The green papaya has a mild flavor and absorbs spices beautifully.
